What "free while we build it" actually means.
It is not charity
Feedback from people who use this daily is worth more to us right now than their subscription. You are getting the product; we are getting the thing that makes it good.
It will not be free forever
We would rather say that now than surprise you later. When there is a price it will appear on this page before it appears on your card, and nothing you already rely on gets pulled out from under you.
Your data leaves as easily as it arrived
One JSON export of everything, CSV on every screen, and an account deletion that deletes. If we ever get the pricing wrong, leaving is not a support ticket.
Questions about pricing
Why is it free?
Because it is not finished, and because feedback from people actually using it is worth more to us right now than their money. That is the whole reason, and it is a self-interested one.
Will you start charging?
Almost certainly, or this does not survive. When we do, it will be announced on this page first, and we will not take away something you already depend on without telling you well in advance.
Is anything held back?
No. There is no tier, no credit meter, no locked report and no trade limit. What is in the app is in your account.
Do you need my card?
No. There is nothing to enter and no trial to expire.
What happens to my data if I stop using it?
You export it — one JSON file with everything you have ever written, plus CSV on every screen that lists anything — or you delete the account, which deletes it rather than archiving it.
Do you sell or train on my data?
No. We do not sell it, we do not hand it to advertisers, and there is no model being trained on your journal. There is also nothing connected to your broker, so there is no account access to leak in the first place.
